Bohan & Canelis Aggregates has been a locally owned and operated business conducting gravel
mining on Austin Creek as well as hillside quarry mining east of the Austin Creek for three generations.
Bohan & Canelis has been a community leader in recognizing local environmental issues and understand how to
take effective precautionary steps to be sensitive to these issues. We are dedicated to and enthusiastic
about the importance of building and maintaining a strong and effective relationship with our community and our environment.
Canelis Redwoods Preserve (1998)
Homer and Tim Canelis, owners of Bohan & Canelis
donated the easement over the 1.1-acre grove in Cazadero, visible from areas
of Guerneville, Monte Rio, Villa Grande and Duncans Mills.
Austin Creek Fishery Enhancement Project (2003)
Bohan & Canelis working in cooperation with NOAA, Department of Fish & Game, California Conservation
Corps and the Sonoma County Water Agency on the Lower Austin Creek Migration Improvement Project coordinated by Trout Unlimited to
set a model for creek restoration projects and preserving our Nations environment.
Environmental Hero of the Year Award (2004)
